On the 2nd of Monday, August Kathy Griffin revealed that she is undergoing surgery for lung cancer and the doctors are optimistic about that. And, it is also expected to remove half of her left lung.

She wrote to her followers:

I've got to tell you something. I have cancer. I'm about to go into surgery to have half of my left lung removed. Yes, I have lung cancer even though I've never smoked! 

As she mentioned, she has never smoked though she had to give half of her left lung into surgery. Moreover, Kathy alluded that she has been fully vaccinated for covid and according to her revelation, if not, it would be more serious in the surgery. 

Of course, I am fully vaccinated for covid. The consequences for being unvaccinated would have been even more serious. Please stay up to date on your medical checkups. It'll save your life. 

Further, giving the message to stay up with dating medical checkups to save ourselves, she ended her statement.



However, Kathy didn't forget to supply her latest health refurbish information with the lung cancer surgery to her anticipated followers.

First of all, she thanked her followers for every love sent to her, with a "wow!"...

Wow! I’m so grateful for all the love you guys are sending me. Surgery went well yesterday. Phew.

Apparently, she is very happy, relieved, and satisfied with the surgery.


 

On Monday night Kathy was aired a special interview with ABC's "Nightline" and she spoke about other recent health problems there. Especially, Kathy mentioned her pill addiction and its mental pressure which even encouraged her to commit suicide.

I started thinking about suicide more and more as I got into the pill addiction and it became almost an obsessive thought. I started really convincing myself it was a good decision. 

I took about a hundred pills I fell down two flights of stairs.

That's how she explained its seriousness. It also explained her rebuild up and how her dark world came to light with a recovery.

Also, another issue was discussed, recalling the year 2017. That was another serious problem she faced in her life. In 2017, many said that after TMS published a photo of her holding a President Trump mask, she went overboard.

I think that emotionally that was the most painful to have so many friends that to this day haven't called I would like to think that I would not behave that way. I  think it's sad that many Americans were quite at like during my photo when it probably would have been okay to kind of take a stand.

She lost a lot of things because of a photo, even friends. Moreover, she unexpectedly received death threats due to this problem. Of course, at times, it’s almost unthinkable how she had endured all the problems that had happened so far in her life.

In addition, in September 2017 she lost her sister, Joyce Griffin, forever due to cancer and her mother, Maggie Griffin,  in March 2020 due to dementia. 

Furthermore, Kathy has shown already her humbleness, honesty with her health update post, sharing a photo of a keychain captioning that "This keychain means the world for me."
